
ABOUT
Mahdi is a PhD student in the Visual and Performing Arts program at the University of Texas at Dallas. With an MA in the Philosophy of Art and a dedicated practice in Persian calligraphy since 2015, his academic interests span the philosophy of art, aesthetics, and Islamic calligraphy. His research explores the historical depth of Islamic calligraphy while seeking ways to reinterpret its expressive forms for contemporary audiences. By bridging traditional artistic practices with modern aesthetic sensibilities, Mahdi aims to sustain and revitalize the rich artistic heritage of Islamic lands through innovative methods and mediums.
